Well. I had thought that I was going to stay away from Substack and continue blogging on other platforms. I tried. I really tried.
But the impact on my sales and visibility was significant. Subscriptions started falling off and no one responded to what I was posting. Not a good thing, considering I’m finally launching The Cost of Power trilogy starting tomorrow.
I considered sending this quick note out via SendFox but I’ve lost a number of you there. Plus there’s a bunch of new subscribers and followers that have accumulated since then, so…
Right now this is your notice. If you don’t want to follow me on Substack, send me a message and you’ll still get this blog via SendFox. I have no intentions of monetizing this blog so either way, you’re not contributing to Substack.
Significant posts will still be mirrored on Dreamwidth, Ko-fi, and my website. Besides launching The Cost of Power over the next month, there will still be horse tidbits, random thoughts, and a collection of essays about my slow but steady reread of Ursula K. Le Guin’s essays. I already have one in mind but there will be more.
More tomorrow with the launch of The Cost of Power: Return. If you want to contribute a penny or so to your writer, here’s my Ko-fi.
Otherwise…well, here we are again. Let’s embark on the journey.
That was my big concern about leaving substack, and believe me, you are not the only writer I know who has faced that. Some big names can jump platforms and keep their following but personally I'm not at that level yet. Sorry you've had to deal with that but, yeah, I'm glad to see you again!
